MARTINSBURG - The Martinsburg Mall is launching a new advertising campaign that is the perfect blend of social media and traditional advertising, Marketing Manager Jeff Rossignol says.

"The days of banners are over," he explains. "This is a blend of entertainment with advertising that pleasantly grabs the attention of patrons."

The focal point of the inexpensive package is the graphics that can be printed on walls, ceilings, floors, anywhere and everywhere. The latest printing technology allows decal-like advertisements to come alive and can even look three- dimensional.

The package the Martinsburg Mall is introducing includes a 4-by-8-foot amazing wall graphic, access to weekly e-mail blasts of 3,000 plus, a link to mall website, a link to all the advertiser´s social pages and a link on the mall´s Wi-fi splash page.

Rossignol hopes the Martinsburg Mall is practically covered in wall graphics.

"I call it the Christmas decorations effect," he says. "You know the neighborhood where all the houses are decorated? Everyone wants to drive through there because of all the decorations."

The goal at the Martinsburg Mall would be to attract more visitors to a veritable plethora of graphics. The graphics would be the attraction, drawing more people to the mall, which, in turn, would generate more patrons for the stores and advertisers.

"People would want to get their picture taken with the graphics and post them on Facebook," Rossignol says. "It goes viral. People spread the word, and word of mouth branding is the best."

The Martinsburg Mall already gets 200,000 in foot traffic monthly and the new wall graphics advertising would be available in time for the holidays, the mall´s highest traffic times.
